What They Say: Participant Testimonials from the “From Grief to Grounding” Modeling Program

For six consecutive Saturdays, Talk Mental Health Indonesia, together with Miracle Psychology, hosted the Modeling Program “From Grief to Grounding”. These from grief to grounding testimonials reflect how the program, held at the TMH.id Creative Hub in Kebon Tamantirto and SaranG Art, Books and Coffee, brought together participants who attended more than half of the sessions, along with spontaneous visitors who joined the Mini Art Sharing & Closing Ritual and contributed direct feedback. In the heart of this journey—Talk Mental Health Indonesia x Miracle Psychology (13 September – 1 November 2025)—participants found themselves supported by a collaboration committed to creating safe, grounding experiences for anyone navigating grief.

As highlighted in the Participant Testimonial Report, the program successfully offered an emotionally meaningful process and became a safe container for exploring both grief and personal grounding. Designed as a space where emotions are welcomed rather than suppressed, the program cultivated an environment where participants could explore grief, emotional awareness, and grounding practices through reflective dialogue and creative expression. This article captures the essence of the From Grief to Grounding testimonials, offering a clear narrative of what participants truly experienced throughout the journey.

From the From Grief to Grounding testimonials, one pattern emerges clearly: most participants joined because they were carrying unresolved grief. Many had borne emotional burdens silently, never finding a truly supportive environment to express them. According to the Participant Testimonial Report, participants joined the program because they:

  • wanted to process unfinished grief,
  • needed a safe space to acknowledge emotions,
  • were interested in healing and grief,
  • were drawn to self-development,
  • were curious about creative expression as a healing medium.

For some, this was the first setting where their emotional experiences were not minimized or dismissed. Instead, they found understanding, acceptance, and a doorway into deeper emotional clarity.

Moments from the Modeling Program “From Grief to Grounding” Sessions

The Participant Testimonial Report reveals that the program met—and often exceeded—expectations. According to participants, the sessions:

  • provided new understanding of the grieving process,
  • created a space where long-suppressed emotions could be validated,
  • helped them recognize the dynamics of loss in a safe and gentle way.

Participant Testimonial Report

Many described the program as a meaningful first step toward making peace with themselves. The non-judgmental atmosphere encouraged them to share openly, perhaps for the first time. Several expressed relief in learning that they were not alone in their experiences—that grief, in its many forms, is a universal thread connecting human stories.

Participants consistently praised the warmth and relevance of the program’s design. They appreciated:

  • topics that touched their personal experiences,
  • a warm, safe, and non-judgmental environment,
  • a facilitator who was calm, gentle, and communicative,
  • activities that were not only theoretical but also practical, such as grounding, reflection, and art therapy.

This balance between reflection, creativity, and emotional safety made the program approachable and deeply supportive. Participants felt guided rather than pressured—supported but still empowered to navigate their inner world at their own pace.

Moments from the Modeling Program “From Grief to Grounding” Sessions

From the From Grief to Grounding testimonials, several activities stood out as the most memorable:

  • self-reflection practices,
  • creative art therapy sessions,
  • sharing circles,
  • purposeful ice-breakers,
  • grounding exercises.

Participant Testimonial Report

These experiences were meaningful because they:

  • allowed access to deeper emotional layers,
  • made participants feel heard and less alone,
  • provided insights into how grief can be processed more intentionally.

The sharing circles were particularly transformative. Participants spoke without interruption or judgment. Being listened to with genuine presence became, in itself, a healing moment.

Although the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, one recurring suggestion emerged from participants: the program felt too short.

Participant Testimonial Report

Participants expressed a desire for:

  • longer discussion and reflection time,
  • better time management within each session,
  • extended or follow-up program series.

Rather than dissatisfaction, this reflects how deeply participants valued the emotional safety offered. They wanted more time to remain in that space.

Moments from the Modeling Program “From Grief to Grounding” Sessions

Every participant rated the facilitator very highly. They described the facilitator as someone who:

  • explained the material gently, clearly, and in structured ways,
  • created a safe and trusting environment,
  • was warm, approachable, and emotionally attuned,
  • avoided sounding patronizing and remained easy to understand.

Participant Testimonial Report

The only suggestion was related to session timing—not the facilitator’s competency or approach.

Participants noted that the program’s flow felt:

  • well-structured,
  • clear and smooth,
  • filled with activities that were light but deeply meaningful.

Participant Testimonial Report

This thoughtful structure allowed participants to gradually process grief, using a blend of learning, stillness, and creativity.

To complement the From Grief to Grounding testimonials, the program’s spirit reflects the idea of “from wound to direction”—moving gently from pain toward purpose. Through positive psychology, especially the PERMA model and character strengths, the question “Why me?” can shift into “What small step can I take now?”

This approach doesn’t erase grief. Instead, it offers direction and grounding so individuals can walk with their grief, not against it. It reminds us that healing is not the absence of pain, but the presence of meaning and self-compassion.

Every participant expressed interest in joining future TMH.id programs. They hoped for:

  • continued series on healing and grief,
  • programs on self-reflection, inner child, and self-worth,
  • regular emotional support gatherings,
  • more creative expressive approaches such as art, journaling, and grounding.

Participant Testimonial Report

This unanimous enthusiasm highlights the program’s emotional impact and its importance within the community.

Moments from the Modeling Program “From Grief to Grounding” Sessions

Based on the From Grief to Grounding testimonials, the program was highly successful, offering participants a space to feel:

  • understood,
  • validated,
  • not alone in their grief,
  • more aware of their emotions and how to regulate them.

More than offering knowledge, the program delivered an emotionally calming and supportive experience. The primary suggestion was simple: extend the time—a clear sign of how valuable and needed this space was.

Overall, the program:

  • met participants’ expectations,
  • nurtured emotional grounding and self-awareness,
  • sparked strong interest in future TMH.id initiatives,
  • proved effective, relevant, and deeply appreciated.

The testimonials affirm that From Grief to Grounding deserves to grow into ongoing series or thematic support groups—continuing to offer a safe haven for those navigating emotional healing.
